Single-crystal diamonds produced by HPHT, which are expected as quantum sensor materials, incorporate nitrogen in differing amounts depending on the crystal growth direction. As a result, regions with different nitrogen concentrations (growth sectors) are formed, leading to challenges such as reduced sensitivity due to distortions at the growth sector boundaries and sensitivity variations caused by differences in nitrogen concentration. For the societal implementation of these materials, including enhancing sensitivity and enabling mass production, it is essential to have large growth sectors. In this presentation, we report that single-crystal diamond substrates with large growth sectors were successfully synthesized.
