Current status of engineering and efforts of eight universities

To increase the number of female human resources in science and engineering

The number of women who choose engineering as a career path remains low. This is due to the fact that the true appeal of engineering has not been fully communicated to society. In this symposium, we will reexamine the question, "What is it about engineering that attracts people? and discuss the appeal of engineering as a fundamental technology that supports creativity, connection with society, and collaboration with diverse fields. The symposium will provide a forum for dialogue on how engineering can contribute to society as a place where diverse human resources, regardless of gender, can play an active role, and how engineering should be communicated to the public.<br>The conference is open to all deans, presidents, and principals of schools of engineering, or their equivalents, with advance registration required. General participants are welcome to attend the meeting, but are asked to refrain from speaking in principle, based on their understanding of the purpose of the meeting.
