① Pro-EE Lunch Meeting

Certified Educators and those aspiring to become Certified Educators, let’s gather for lunch!
・    What is the Certified Educators Association? What kind of activities does it organize?
・    What are the benefits of becoming a Certified Educator?
・    I’d like to exchange information with other Certified Educators…
This event will be held at the same venue immediately following the Certified Educators Association Subcommittee’s special session on “Reasonable Accommodations in Engineering Education.” It’s intended to be a casual gathering for free conversation, so please feel free to join us without any formalities.
Professor Aburaya from the Certified Educators Committee, Professor Maeda and Professor Yonemori from the Certified Educators Association, and other related parties are scheduled to attend.
*We will arrange boxed lunches for those who request them (you are also welcome to bring your own sandwiches, etc.), so please check the “boxed lunch” option when registering.
Date & Time: September 2 (Wed), 12:30–13:30, Venue C
Organizer: Miyoko Kyotya (Japan Society for Engineering Education)

② Diversity in Engineering Education

The Diversity Study Group will host a luncheon to discuss the promotion of diversity in engineering education. At this year’s annual conference, we have planned and will conduct a session titled “OS: Challenges for Diversity in Engineering in Local Communities” to discuss the development of women in engineering within local communities. While this is partly related to policies from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), many engineering departments at universities have introduced entrance exam quotas specifically for women in recent years; however, there are few opportunities to exchange information on these topics. Therefore, immediately following the OS session we are organizing, we would like to exchange views on various initiatives to foster women in engineering—as a concrete action to promote diversity in the field—with a particular focus on the challenges faced in each region.
Date & Venue: Friday, September 4, 12:15–1:30 p.m., Room 14
Organizer: Takashi Sato (formerly of Niigata College of Technology)
