Call for Symposia

We are inviting proposals for symposia for the JSMB 2024 meeting. Each symposium slot will be allocated 100 minutes.

Application Period: March 25 (Monday) – May 24 (Friday)

Submission: to the Conference Organizing Committee (jsmb2024conference[at]gmail.com)

Eligibility: Members of the Japan Society for Mathematical Biology

The organizer(s) proposing the symposium can be one or more individuals, but at least one organizer must be a member of the Japan Society for Mathematical Biology.

*Non-members should first join the society by following the admission instructions on the JSMB website (http://www.jsmb.jp/admission/admission.html).

Applicants should submit a Word file containing:

(1) Symposium title (in Japanese and English)

(2) Outline of the symposium (approximately 400 characters in Japanese or 200 words in English)

(3) List of scheduled speakers and their affiliations/positions (non-members are allowed)

(4) Name(s) of organizer(s), their affiliations/positions, and contact information

If you have any preferences regarding the schedule, please let us know when applying. However, your preferences may not be accommodated.

The Conference Organizing Committee and Advisory Committee will review the proposals, and acceptance/rejection will be notified by June 7 (Friday).

Organizers can freely allocate the presentation time for each speaker within their symposium slot.

The language (Japanese or English) for the symposium can be determined by the organizers. However, presentation slides written in English are recommended.

Proposals for two slots are also accepted, but may not be accommodated depending on the number of submissions.

If there are many submissions, priority will be given to proposals with diverse speaker compositions. Please ensure that all designated speakers do not belong to the same gender, career stage, etc. Proposals that include early-career researchers or international speakers as organizers or designated speakers will be given priority.

For this conference, the general rule is one presentation per person, and multiple presentations by an individual are not permitted.
