同志社大学文学部を卒業。中京大学大学院体育学研究科を修了。博士（体育学）。アーティスティックスイミング元日本代表。専門は、発育発達学、公衆衛生学（専門社会調査士）。子どもと家族の身体活動量促進を目的として、71の国・地域が参画する国際機関「Active Healthy Kids Global Alliance」の日本チームのリーダーを務める。
