[1E01【招待講演】]Hydrogen spillover: understanding, tailoring, and utilizing hydrogen migration

Hydrogen spillover, the coupled migration of protons and electrons, contributes to a wide range of hydrogen-related processes, whereas its practical utilization and tailoring remain challenging because the dynamic behavior of spilled hydrogen is not yet fully understood. Herein, we discuss our recent work on understanding, tailoring, and utilizing hydrogen spillover. A deeper understanding of hydrogen spillover has been achieved through the combination of isotope–switching experiments, kinetic analysis, and spectroscopic characterization. Tailoring of hydrogen spillover has been realized through heteroatom doping of support materials, which modifies the dynamics behavior of spilled hydrogen. Based on these insights, hydrogen spillover has been utilized to enhance CO2 hydrogenation catalysis and enable the facile synthesis of non–equilibrium alloy nanoparticles. These studies highlight hydrogen spillover as a new design principle for energy and environmental materials.
