We developed a cascade utilization process for lignocellulosic biomass using a reusable Pt/C catalyst. Cellulose and hemicellulose were converted into sugar alcohols with a yield of 64% at 463 K. The remaining solid, mainly lignin and catalyst, was subsequently treated at 673 K to produce aromatic compounds with a yield of 40%. This approach enables the conversion of all biomass components without organic solvents or severe pretreatment. The catalyst maintained its activity over multiple cycles. The proposed strategy provides an efficient route for integrated biomass valorization and sustainable chemical production.
