All-inorganic perovskites exhibit excellent optical performance and strong stability, making them promising for photovoltaic applications. Ultrathin CsPbBr3 films can be prepared by co-depositing PbBr2 and CsBr through MBE, which also enables atomic-scale analysis of surface structures. In this study, ultrathin PbBr2 and CsBr films were deposited on Ag(111) via MBE to investigate their surface structure. For the PbBr2 films, LEED patterns showed (√3×√3)R30° and (1.18×1.18)R4.5° spots with multi-domain diffraction features. These characteristic features are suggested to be unique to ultrathin PbBr2 films on Ag(111). Conversely, for the ultrathin CsBr films, a twofold-symmetric periodic structure was observed at low coverage, and transformed into a threefold-symmetric periodic structure as the film thickness increased. These results indicate that the growth mode and surface periodicity of ultrathin PbBr2 and CsBr films on Ag(111) depend strongly on the amount deposited, offering valuable insights into the initial growth process of CsPbBr3 films.
