[1P17]Photoluminescence characterization of ZnxW1-xOy films grown by PLD

ZnWO4, composed of ZnO and WO3, is an oxide used in scintillators; it is a self-activated phosphor material that exhibits strong luminescence properties inherent to the crystal itself, without the need for doping with rare-earth ions. In recent years, it has attracted attention as a self-activated luminescent material utilizing emission from self-trapped excitons, exhibiting pale-blue photoluminescence (PL) near 470 nm upon ultraviolet irradiation. Here, we have investigated the compositional dependence of the structure and PL properties of ZnxW1-xOy films fabricated by the pulsed laser deposition (PLD) method.
