[2A10【若手学会賞】]Probing atomic-level-structure of oxide surfaces by DNP surface-enhanced NMR spectroscopy

DNP-SENS enables sensitive surface analysis of inorganic nanomaterials. However, its application to half-integer quadrupolar nuclei, which make up most NMR-active isotopes, remains limited. We developed a D-RINEPT method using adiabatic dipolar recoupling to enhance polarization transfer from 1H to quadrupolar nuclei such as 17O, 49Ti, and 67Zn. To overcome resolution loss from second-order quadrupolar broadening, especially at low magnetic fields, we combined D-RINEPT with 2D techniques like MQMAS scheme and DQ-SQ homonuclear correlation. These methods enabled detailed 17O surface characterization of oxide nanoparticles and zeolites, including post-synthetic 17O enrichment strategies.
