[2B01]Introductory talk for international joint sympodium of JVSS 2026 : Recent Trends in Vacuum Measurement Technology and National Standards of pressure and vacuum

Today, vacuum technology is utilized across a wide range of fields including semiconductors, electronic devices, automotive, aerospace, chemistry, energy, and nuclear fusion−, food, medicine, surface analysis, and particle accelerators. Reliable vacuum measurements suitable for each field are required. In this symposium, 11 distinguished researchers and engineers have been invited to present the latest trends in pressure and vacuum measurements. The morning session will focus on the current status and progress of pressure and vacuum standards, including calibration techniques, in various countries. The afternoon session features the latest technologies in pressure and vacuum measurements, including optical- or AI-based techniques, wide-range measurements, and XHV measurements. We hope this symposium enhances mutual understanding among researchers and engineers in national metrology institutes, companies involved in vacuum gauge technologies, and vacuum users.
