The lecture “Recent Advances in Vacuum Research in Brazil: Primary Vacuum Standard and Associated Research” describes the rebuilding of vacuum metrology in Brazil and the role of Inmetro, the national institute responsible for measurement traceability and quality infrastructure. It explains that a primary vacuum standard realizes low pressure directly from fundamental physical principles and is essential for reliable calibration, international comparability, and industrial applications with strong economic impact. After years of limited activity in this area, Brazil is resuming work through the assembly of a primary vacuum system, the creation of vacuum workshops, and metrology courses at the SBV congress. Current projects include a new photophoretic-effect vacuum sensor and internal intercomparisons to improve the measurement capability of accredited laboratories
