We are developing Soft-X-ray Complete OpeRando PhotoemIssion UltramicroScopy (SCORPIUS) at NanoTerasu BL07U. SCORPIUS is designed to perform ARPES, spin-resolved ARPES, XPS, and XAS using a focused soft-X-ray beam. The system is equipped with two complementary focusing optics, an ellipsoidal mirror and a Fresnel zone plate, allowing users to select the appropriate focusing system based on experimental requirements. Its operando capability will enable the investigation of electronic and chemical states under device-operation conditions with applied bias. This presentation reports the design concept, current development status, and initial performance of SCORPIUS.
