[2E03【International Joint Symposium】]Vacuum system development for Siam Photon Source II: from design and simulation to prototyping and verification

The engineering of vacuum systems for fourth-generation synchrotrons is constrained by tight spaces and sub-millimeter clearances. This work presents the integrated vacuum system development for the Siam Photon Source II (SPS-II) DTBA lattice. The design couples a localized pumping strategy near photon absorbers with precision oil-less CNC machining of aluminum chambers. Advanced finite element analysis and Monte Carlo simulations validate structural stability, thermal safety, and the attainment of ultra-high vacuum (UHV) pressures under beam-induced loads. A domestic prototyping program successfully fabricated three test chambers, including a complex, three-dimensionally curved bending chamber. Metrology confirmed that geometric deformations remained strictly within lattice tolerances, while thermal outgassing tests qualified the in-house UHV chemical cleaning protocol by outperforming project specifications.
