[3A06【依頼講演】]X-ray Ptychography for Visualizing the Nanosturcutre and Chemical States of Battery Materials

*Nozomu Ishiguro1 (1. Tohoku University (Japan))
In recent years, spectro-microscopic techniques using synchrotron X-rays have become increasingly important for visualizing the insertion and desorption reactions of electrons and ions in the real sample of battery materials. X-ray ptychography is one of the coherent X-ray diffractive imaging techniques, where the collected diffraction pattern set is reconstructed into real-space sample images by iterative phase retrieval calculation. We have recently focused on X-ray ptychography especially in the tender X-ray region. The tender X-ray contains the K-edge of P, S and Cl and the L-edges of 4d metals, which are important elements for various material systems. We have developed a new system in NanoTerasu BL10U, established in 2024, which provides higher brightness tender X-rays. In this study, we present case studies of battery materials by spectro-microscopic analysis as well as 3D visualization using computed tomography, using the hard and tender X-ray ptychography.
