Presentations
Each presentation is allotted 14 minutes, including 2 minutes for questions and answers (with 1 minute allowed for the changeover between speakers). A warning bell will sound at 10 minutes, a second bell at 12 minutes, and a final bell at 14 minutes to indicate the elapsed time. Please operate your slides yourself using the computer. If a presentation is cancelled, the slot will remain vacant and will not be moved forward. If you need to withdraw your presentation on the day of the conference, please contact the emergency number (conference mobile phone) listed on the conference website.
Session Chairs
The session chairs for the first presentations in the morning and afternoon sessions will be arranged by the Organizing Committee. After that, the presenter who has just finished will serve as chair for the next presentation. If the presenter is an international student or otherwise not fluent in Japanese, a co-author is asked to serve as chair on their behalf. For English oral presentations, several members of the judging committee will serve as chairs.
Computer Preparation
Please bring your own laptop or tablet computer, along with any necessary power cables. Any device, software, or presentation format is acceptable as long as it can be projected with a standard LCD projector. The projector supports HDMI and VGA (mini D-sub 15-pin) connections. If you are using a Mac or tablet device, please remember to bring any required adapters. If you create your presentation file on a Mac, please ensure that you include the appropriate file extension.
Previewing Slides
There will be no dedicated preview room. Staff will be available in each presentation room on the first day (March 28) from 12:30 to 13:30, and on the third day (March 30) from 8:00 to 9:00 and from 12:30 to 13:30. Please use these times to preview your slides and check the projection settings.
Entering the Room and Switching Computers
Presenters must enter the room at least 30 minutes before their scheduled presentation. After the previous presentation has ended, you will connect your own computer. Before connecting, please have your presentation file already open (start the slideshow after connecting). After your presentation, please disconnect the projector cable promptly.
Troubleshooting Computer Problems
To prepare for possible technical issues, be sure to bring a PDF version of your slides saved on a CD or DVD. There have been reports of problems specifically with Mac computers at this venue. If an issue occurs, please work with colleagues or nearby presenters to borrow or share a computer if possible. Presentation times will not be extended to compensate for delays caused by computer problems.
Laser Pointers
A laser pointer will be provided, but it does not have a slide-advancing function. If you require slide-advancing capability, please bring your own laser pointer with that feature.
