Thu. Mar 27, 2025 7:45 AM - 9:15 AM UTC
Thu. Mar 27, 2025 7:45 AM - 9:15 AM UTC
Room 4 (Fukuoka International Congress CenterR: 201 [2F])
Organizer: Hiromi Baba (Maruho, Co., Ltd., Grad. Sch. Eng. Sci., Osaka Univ.), Fumiyoshi Yamashita (Grad. Sch. Pharm. Sci., Kyoto Univ.)
Alongside remarkable improvements in computing performance, digital technologies such as artificial intelligence, mathematical/chemical/physical modeling and simulation techniques have rapidly developed in recent years. These technologies and the advocacy of Pharma 4.0, which aims to digitize and automate decision making and various processes in pharmaceutical industries, are accelerating the digital transformation (DX) of drug discovery, formulation design, and the areas of chemistry, manufacturing, and controls (CMC).
This symposium will concentrate on DX in the areas of formulation design and CMC, which are pivotal to drug development. The symposium will include comprehensive discussions on academic research related to process development and manufacturing modeling, the development of digital platforms for formulation design and its operational applications in a pharmaceutical company, and computational chemistry and informatics technologies for formulation development by an IT company, incorporating examples of industry–academic and industry–industry collaborations. The symposium will delve into the practical benefits and current challenges, aiming to foster enriched discussions and contribute to innovative drug development.
