This symposium is organized as an industry-academia collaboration, and invites renowned experts from IBM, Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma, and Eisai, who are at the forefront of AI drug discovery and AI medicine, to introduce the changes that the latest AI technology is bringing to the fields of drug discovery and medicine, as well as actual application cases. Akira Koseki (IBM) will introduce the research results that applies the concept of the foundation model to the field of drug discovery. Ryuta Saito (Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma) will explain QSP technology where AI technology has significantly reduced calculation costs and extracted knowledge, despite some challenges of massive simulation calculations. Munenori Senzaki (IBM) will explain research cases using AI in target search in the field of drug discovery, along with development cases of AI in the various medical fields. Ken Aoshima (Eisai) will explain a research example of a non-invasive, low-cost AI model for predicting brain amyloid beta accumulation. We hope that this symposium will be a forum for further development of Japan's pharmaceutical and medical industries with academia.
