[English Session]
Recently, supersulfides, which consist of sequentially connected sulfur atoms, have garnered considerable interest in the field of biology. In light of this, extensive research is currently underway to elucidate the biological functions of supersulfides. To deepen our understanding of these roles, it is essential to review supersulfides from an organochemical perspective.
In this symposium, we provide a comprehensive overview of supersulfide chemistry through the presentations by four young scientists actively engaged in this research field. These presentations will cover the topics concerning the development of synthetic methodologies for supersulfides, chemical tool for elucidating the functions of supersulfides in biological systems, and application related to supersulfide molecules.
