Drug-induced liver injury (DILI) is classified into toxic and idiosyncratic types based on the mechanisms of onset. Toxic liver injury is dose-dependent, while idiosyncratic liver injury involves genetic factors and variations in immune response, making it difficult to predict. DILI is also seen not only with antibiotics and antipyretics/analgesics, but also with herbal medicines, health foods, supplements, etc., and there are also increasing reports of cases with immune checkpoint inhibitors. We planned this symposium to provide a forum for widely sharing the latest knowledge and issues regarding DILI.
Dr. Kawase from Kindai University, Dr. Kato from Osaka Med. Pharm. Univ., Dr. Aoki from Grad. Sch. Pharm. Sci., Chiba Univ., and Dr. Fukami from Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Kanazawa University, WPI-NanoLSI, Kanazawa University will present their research results on DILI.
