Task shifting/sharing in home care:current status and future prospects

Purpose of the Symposium: As the population continues to decline due to the falling birthrate in an aging society, not only medical care and welfare, but also government, industry, and the technology sector, have come together to create a sustainable society by 2040. Particularly, we have entered an era in which personal health-related services are provided through new technology, supporting a high-quality national healthcare system. Amidst this population decline, concerns about the sustainability of the national healthcare systems have arisen due to issues like the uneven distribution of medical and nursing care personnel. This has led to the emergence of the concept of a healthcare ecosystem to ensure the continued provision of appropriate healthcare. The healthcare ecosystem aims to improve the quality and efficiency of healthcare sustainably through coordination, collaboration, and cooperation, sharing resources and functions to ensure effective operation. The transition from medical collaboration to multidisciplinary collaboration, and further evolution toward social collaboration, requires information sharing. For this, a data ecosystem must be built. Because society is rapidly changing to this structure, pharmacists must understand these changes and take action in response.
