◆略歴
Dr. Sangram S. Sisodia is The Thomas Reynolds Sr. Family Professor of Neuroscience and Director of the Center for Molecular Neurobiology in the Department of Neurobiology at The University of Chicago. Dr. Sisodia received a BA in Chemistry from the College of Wooster and a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Georgia. He carried out his post-doctoral studies at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and rose to Assistant(1990), Associate(1985)and Full Professor(1998)in the Departments of Pathology and Neuroscience. In 1998, he assumed the position of Chairman of the Departments of Neurobiology, Pharmacology and Physiology at The University of Chicago. Dr.Sisodia has published 198 peer-reviewed manuscripts. He has received several awards, including : the Potamkin Prize for Alzheimer’s Disease Research from the American Academy of Neurology and the Metropolitan Life Foundation Award for Medical Research. He has delivered the Presidential Special Lecture at the Annual Society for Neuroscience Meeting in 2001 and 2006, Keynote lecture at The Keystone Symposia on Alzheimer’s Disease and Plenary Lecture, International Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Conference(1998). He was inducted as a member of the Johns Hopkins Society of Scholars(2007), Fellow of AAAS(2008), Foreign Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences, India(2010)and Spanish Royal Academy of Sciences(2011).
