Das (2015) outlines ecotourism principles to minimize environmental impact, raise awareness, provide positive visitor-host experiences, support conservation, empower local communities, and increase sensitivity to political, environmental, and social contexts. Gunung Gede Pangrango National Park, designated as one of Indonesia’s first national parks on March 6, 1980, spans 15,196 hectares. While ecotourism remains debated globally, this study assesses the national park’s tourist carrying capacity, which is crucial for management. Research involves reviewing literature to identify ecological, social, and cultural factors, calculating physical carrying capacity, and using indicators for pressures for ecological carrying capacity. Social carrying capacity is measured through tourist perceptions via questionnaires.
