With rising oil prices and a push for a low-carbon economy, new energy vehicles are drawing interest. This study evaluates hydrogen fuel pathways and the sustainability of next-generation vehicles by comparing fuel cell vehicles (FCVs), hydrogen internal combustion engines (H2ICE), and electric vehicles (EVs). Using life cycle assessment and Entropy-Weighted TOPSIS, it examines environmental, cost, and social impacts, offering insights into the comparative advantages of FCVs, EVs and H2ICEs. The results show that FCVs are inferior to electric vehicles in terms of environmental and economic aspects.
