Rapid socio-economic advancement has increased heavy metal emissions from the non-ferrous metal industry, posing environmental and health risks. This study uses material flow analysis to track pathways and origins of emissions, with a focus on cadmium (Cd), which primarily originates from zinc concentrates (78%) and is emitted as crude cadmium (75.93%). By analyzing spatial and temporal emission variations, scenario analysis suggests a potential 2030 reduction of 10 t, 38 t, and 35 t via source reduction, process control, and end-of-pipe treatment. The study underscores a comprehensive reduction strategy across production stages to manage heavy metal pollution.
