As part of the development of safety design technology for sodium-cooled fast reactor coupled to thermal energy storage system (SFR with TES) with sodium–molten salt heat exchanger, the present study investigates the optimization of the heat exchanger type between sodium and molten salt, and the measures to improve heat transfer performance. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analyses were carried out using models that reflected expected measures to improve heat transfer performance, and their effectiveness was confirmed. Based on the results of CFD analysis, this presentation discusses the study on the accuracy of heat transfer performance evaluation and the effects of measures to improve heat transfer performance.
