In a method that uses ultraviolet light and hydrogen peroxide to decompose oxalic acid used in chemical decontamination, the formation of Fe2+ ions by a photochemical reaction and the generation of Fe3+ ions by hydrogen peroxide occur simultaneously. Since excess hydrogen peroxide during decomposition using this method accelerates the decomposition of the ion exchange resin, we felt it necessary to have an indicator for controlling the amount of hydrogen peroxide added. Therefore, we investigated the relationship between the concentration ratio of Fe3+ to Fe2+ and the redox potential.
