The high-intensity spallation neutron source injected 3GeV and 1MW proton beam to a mercury target in J-PARC provides high-intensity neutrons to neutron instruments. Since the mercury target and its peripheral components produce tritium due to proton beam injection, it is necessary to understand the tritium emission characteristics for safe maintenance work. As a preliminary experiment, tritium emission from tritium-exposed structural materials was measured at Toyama University.
