ブリックマンの責任帰属モデルについて知ることができる。同時に、家族の感情表出（EE）のメカニズムを提供しているところのワイナーの責任帰属モデルについても学ぶことができる。これらのモデルを知ることで、ある身体的・精神的病気を抱えた患者に対する援助の仕方、およびコーピングのやり方が全く変わってくることが分かる。どのモデルが正解ということは無いのであるが、臨床現場では、医学モデルを採用する医療従事者と道徳モデルを採用する伝統的医療を実践する自然療法家との見解の違いや政治的分断の根源について、深い洞察を得ることができる。
