デバイス応用を指向したダイヤモンド単結晶の作製において、化学気相堆積法(CVD)は不可欠である。CVDダイヤモンド特有の異常成長粒子や結晶欠陥等は、デバイス応用の致命的問題となっている。これらは種基板から伝搬する貫通転位の他、成長表面に付着した固体粒子にも起因すると考えられるが、気相中固体粒子の存在は未だ直接確認されていない。そこで、レーザー光散乱測定による気相中固体粒子の直接観察に取り組んだ。
