In recent years, as lithium-ion batteries have become more widespread, accidents of fire and explosion have been reported, and in order to improve safety, it has been widely reported that the separator inside the lithium-ion battery is coated with ceramics such as Al2O3 and SiO2. The protective film of the separator is an insulator, and it is required to be coated using a low-temperature process so that the resistance of the entire separator does not increase, and the separator deforms at high temperatures. We have previously reported the low-temperature growth of ZnO films by spray pyrolysis using diethylzinc (DEZ) [1]. In this study, we investigated whether ZnO films prepared using this low-temperature coating process can be used as protective films for separators.
