In recent years, research into two-dimensional nanocarbons, such as graphene, has been actively conducted. This presentation mainly focus on graphene oxide (GO). GO has the advantage of being synthesized by chemical oxidation of graphite, which is inexpensive and available in large quantities. GO can be available in an easy-to-handle solution state, so it is expected to have a very wide range of applications. I will introduce the appropriate chemical modification method for mass production of GO and obtaining the desired physical properties, as well as the development of applications.
