In the curriculum of Kyushu University's Faculty of Engineering, a lecture called "Introduction to Engineering" is given to each department in the first semester of the second year. This lecture is an important subject for faculty members to help students learn more about the department, as it is used as a reference when students choose the department they want to be assigned. Since last year, we have had students make crafts. The aim is to get students interested in engineering while having fun. The task is to make paper boats that meet specifications and compete for speed. Our target of having students think about engineering problems and work on crafts has been met.
