Engineering education is extremely important for maintaining Japan's industrial competitiveness, and various efforts have been made to improve and enhance it. As globalization progresses and society changes rapidly, engineering education is also required to respond to these changes. However, it is precisely under these circumstances that the grand design of what engineering education in Japan should be, which should serve as the basis of such a design, is becoming more and more important. In this special program, we will discuss the issues from the viewpoint of international acceptability and education for female students, and consider how to construct a grand design for engineering education in Japan.
