This paper discusses the educational significance of engineering education through a case study in which research originating from electronic circuits developed into interdisciplinary research and international collaboration. Research on voltage reference circuits expanded into a motion analysis system using accelerometers and further developed through collaboration with a French exchange student and an internship in France. The study suggests the effectiveness of electronic circuits as an “expandable technology” in engineering education.
