[1C07]Effect of H2 plasma irradiation on morphology of Cu on Al2O3(0001) studied using in situ PTRF-XAFS technique

A compact cell capable of generating plasma and performing polarization-dependent total reflection fluorescence (PTRF)-XAFS measurements for the characterization of plasma-assisted catalysis was designed and assembled. It was successfully applied to monitor the effect of H2 plasma on the Cu/α-Al2O3(0001) model catalyst surface. The results revealed that H2 plasma induces significant morphological changes in the Cu nanoparticles.
