A new method for theoretically calculating the photoelectron intensity distribution in Angle-resolved Photoemission Spectroscopy has been developed. This method involves constructing the final state of photoelectron emission by matching the wave function of the repeating slab structure with the wave function of free electrons under appropriate boundary conditions, and then calculating the matrix elements. In this study, this calculation method is applied to hexagonal boron nitride to calculate the photoemission intensity in the surface normal direction and at other angles, thereby discussing the energy dependence of the intensity. This calculation allows us to confirm energy dependence such as sharp resonance in the π band. Furthermore, we can confirm that the dispersion of the π band of h-BN obtained from the calculation generally agrees with the experimental results.
