The STM junction, once utilized as a tool for passive observation, has evolved into a dynamic quantum laboratory where localized electric fields interact directly with the quantum states of single molecules. In this presentation, I will discuss how this distinctive environment facilitates the observation and manipulation of molecular orbitals, vibrations, and excitons with extreme spatial, temporal, and energetic resolution.
