Non-contact atomic force microscopy under ultra-high vacuum enables the observation of molecular oxygen on the TiO₂ surface at the atomic scale. This presentation discusses molecular and atomic oxygen in various adsorption and charge states on the rutile TiO₂ (110) surface.
