[1C01【論文賞】]Structure analysis of H by Channeling 15N-NRA and discovery of H-induced Jahn-Teller effects
*Takahiro Ozawa1 (1. Institute of Industrial Science, The University of Tokyo (Japan))
We developed an apparatus for Channeling 15N-NRA to determine hydrogen lattice locations in solids and discovered the isotope-dependent site occupation by hydrogen in titanium hydride nanofilms. H occupies both tetrahedral and octahedral sites, whereas D occupies only tetrahedral sites. The coexistence of H at the two distinct interstitial sites is attributed to stabilization by symmetry lowering, namely a hydrogen-induced Jahn-Teller effect, while the isotope-dependent lattice structure can be understood in terms of nuclear quantum effects.
