[1C09]Morphology and magnetization properties of Ni thin films on oxide substrates

The magnetic anisotropy of thin Ni films grown on Cu(100) is known to be thickness-dependent, leading to a reorientation of the easy axis of magnetization. Previously, we tried to control magnetization orientation with this system. However, the magnetization of Ni film is not well defined. To overcome this problem, this study proposes utilizing an oxide substrate, specifically SrTiO3(100), to stabilize the magnetic properties of the Ni thin film. We have successfully synthesized Ni thin films on a SrTiO3(100) substrate and herein report their magnetic properties.
