[S60★☆]Practice of basic and clinical research through research education bridging the faculty of pharmacy and clinical settings: Aiming to generate new evidence based on clinical questions

Sun. Mar 29, 2026 1:10 PM - 3:10 PM JST
Sun. Mar 29, 2026 4:10 AM - 6:10 AM UTC
Room 07 (F403, Bldg. 4, Area 2 [4F])
Organizer: Yuta Yokoyama (Keio Univ Faculty Pharm), Takaya Namiki (Dept. Pharm., Tokyo Bay Urayasu Ichikawa Medical Center)
In recent years, the importance of basic and clinical research led by clinical pharmacists to address clinical questions (CQs) has increased. Pharmacy education is therefore called upon to cultivate, from the student stage, an understanding of the significance of research and the capacity to explore pharmaceutical challenges scientifically through structured research education. Sustained research training that maintains the motivation developed through undergraduate research and continues after entry into clinical practice fosters research capability; putting basic and clinical research into practice then transforms CQs into new evidence.
This symposium spotlights research conducted by pharmacy students, clinical pharmacists, and university faculty from the perspective of research education in both pharmacy schools and clinical settings. It will present concrete examples that trace the pathway from CQs arising in daily practice to the creation of new evidence.
Speakers—pharmacy students, clinical pharmacists, and academic faculty—will present globally relevant, academically rigorous findings grounded in CQs and developed through research education that enables the conduct of clinical research. We will also discuss how research education can be implemented within each attendee's institutional environment, with the conviction that these discussions will drive practical behavioral change and promote active engagement in both basic and clinical research.
