In this work, we present silicon (Si) nanoparticles with Mie resonances can be “dual” nanoparticles. When the nanoparticle exhibits the helicity-preserving scattering, the local chiral fields around the constituent nanoparticles are strongly enhanced, which improves the sensitivity of chiral molecular sensing. We experimentally demonstrate that a solution of Si nanospheres with electric and magnetic Mie resonances can be “dual” at the Kerker condition.
