Graphene-based infrared photodetectors are promising candidates for this as they combine the unique optoelectronic properties of graphene, such as fast responses due to its GHz order bandwidth, gate-tunable plasmons, and a strong nonlinear optical response. We have demonstrated high-performance photodetection using photogating in the graphene devices. Photogating is one of the most promising techniques used to enhance the responsivity of the graphene photodetectors due to the high carrier mobility of the graphene. Photogating is induced by the presence of photosensitizers in the vicinity of a graphene channel that couples incident light. In this study, we demonstrate responsivity enhancements of the graphene photodetectors operating in the long wavelength infrared region using two types of the photosensitizers.
