[PL-01-1]Future Therapy for Parkinson's Disease. The role of Blood Brain Barrier Opening

Director of the Centro Integral de Nerociencias (Madrid), Full Professor of Neurology (Catedrático) in Navarra and CEU-San Pablo Madrid and Principal Investigator of CIBERNED (Spanish Neurodegeneration Network). He got his MD and doctoral degree at the University of Navarra and completed the neurologist residence in San Sebastian. He spent 2 years in the Institute of Psychiatry (London), under the direction of Prof. Marsden, a world leader in movement disorders.His current Google Scholar H-index is 121, > 62 000 citations and counts 43 citation classic (> 300 citations) including 8 articles over 1000 cites. He has contributed to teaching and academia with over 100 book, including the Harrison’s Textbook of Medicine. Top 25 Best Investigators in the field of Parkinson Disease worldwide and listed as Highly Cited Researcher every year. He has participated as a guest in more than 450 national and international conferences and has
organized more than 60 congresses. He served as Editor in Chief of the Movement Disorders journal (2010-2019), transforming it to a frontrunner publication in Clinical Neurology (IF=10.2). In 2017, he was appointed to the Neurology Chair of the Royal National Academy of Medicine of Spain. In 2023 was among the Humboldt´s foundation (Germany) awardees.
