New regulatory standards in Japan requires countermeasures aircraft impact subject to NPPs. The impact angle between aircraft and NPPs roof is assumed to be very shallow. This study focused on the horizontal component of the impact force during the oblique impact. It might be possible to reduce damage to the reinforced concrete (RC) by diverting impact force. Therefore, this study proposes a protective design using a multi-layered structure, which a metal plate moving during impact to divert impact force is installed on a RC. The protective effect of this structure was verified by experiments and reproducing analysis. As a result, the multi-layered structure can reduce damage and internal energy to the RC compared to a RC alone.
