Various novel nuclear reactors, including small modular reactors (SMRs), have been proposed to achieve carbon neutrality and energy security. Traditionally, the prediction accuracy of neutronics design for such reactors has been evaluated by mock-up critical experiments, but the current situation makes it very difficult to conduct the experiments. We have, therefore, initiated the construction of a data assimilation framework for neutronics design to evaluate the prediction accuracy of neutronics design without conducting new criticality experiments. The framework consists of a database of reactor physics experiments, data assimilation tools for evaluating design accuracy, and a reactor analysis system. In this presentation, an overview of the framework under development and its development status will be presented.
