Understanding severe accident phenomena necessitates modeling the interactions between solid, gas, and liquid phases. Due to the inherent complexity of these interactions, numerical simulations are indispensable. In this study, a coarse-grained Discrete Element Method (CG-DEM) is integrated into the DEM-VOF framework to enable simulations of solid-gas-liquid three-phase flows, providing valuable insights into severe accident phenomena. Additionally, the adequacy of the CG-DEM-VOF method will be validated using a system designed to replicate conditions characteristic of severe accidents.
