Greetings
Thanks to all who joined the 7th Asia-Pacific Symposium on RadioChemistry (APSORC25)
Time runs. Thanks to your attendance and overwhelming support, the APSORC25 conference, held in Matsue from September 14 to 19, has concluded successfully and to great acclaim. We were delighted to welcome participants from 27 countries and regions, and the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) members were relieved to see so many international attendees depart with smiles.
Although we had 467 registrations yet just under 400 attendees, we consider this a significant achievement for an international symposium held after the pandemic. We will share detailed statistics separately, but we would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to everyone involved.
Throughout the conference, the venue was buzzed with energy. It featured the Kimura Award and Hevesy Medal Award ceremonies, four keynote lectures, and numerous sessions and proposal sessions that delivered rich, substantive presentations. Furthermore, the participation of over a hundred young researchers, primarily students, gave us a sense of the field's robust future. We hope those young participants attending their first international conference will build on this experience for their next steps.
I believe the excursion to Izumo Oyashiro Shrine (Izumo Taisha), one of Japan's oldest shrines; the banquet held in a location (Vogel Park; https://www.ichibata.co.jp/vogelpark/en) surrounded by magnificent flowers; and the traditional Iwami Kagura Sacred Dance depicting Susanoo-no-Mikoto (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Susanoo-no-Mikoto) slaying the Yamata no Orochi serpent (https://www.kankou-shimane.com/en/highlights/9637) performed beforehand left a strong impression on many participants.
Again, the symposium has received sponsorship from 25 academic societies and organizations, including overseas societies, as well as financial support from 30 domestic enterprises. We have also received financial support from the local governments of Shimane Prefecture and Matsue City. I would like to express my gratitude especially to Mr. Akihito Uesada, Mayor of Matsue City for delivering his address in English at the banquet. His eloquent delivery remains deeply etched in my memory. We also would like to express our sincere gratitude to all those who have supported and cooperated with us, as well as to the Kunibiki Messe staff for their efforts in smooth managing the symposium. I would also like to note that Prof. Kishikawa, the founder of the APSORC, and his wife attended and celebrated the success of APSORC25.
As a summary of this symposium, we would like to remind all participants once again. The proceedings will be published in our Society's academic journal, the Journal of Nuclear and Radiochemical Sciences (JNRS). Furthermore, we strongly encourage all participants to submit articles for regular publication in this journal. Submissions to the Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry (JRNC), published by Akadémiai Kiadó, are also welcome. Both journals plan to dedicate special issues to this conference. We sincerely wish for the advancement of your research activities and the further and sustained development of radiochemistry and related fields.
We hope to see you all again in four years, somewhere in Asia or the Pacific region!
With heartfelt gratitude,
(2025.9.25.)

Greetings to all who are visiting the 7th Asia-Pacific Symposium on RadioChemistry (APSORC25) website
Thank you for visiting our website. We sincerely invite you to participate in this conference, which will be held from September 14 to 19 this year. We, the Japanese researchers in the field of radiochemistry, have been hosting this conference since 1997 with the aim of fostering academic exchange with researchers in the same field from countries across the Asia-Pacific region. Since then, we have continued to hold the conference every four years in collaboration with our colleagues from China, South Korea, and the United States. However, unfortunately, due to the global pandemic that has led to isolation and division, we were forced to cancel the meeting scheduled for 2022 in Japan. This meeting aims to revive the series. Today, the world is facing division and conflict due to the COVID-19 pandemic, conflicts, and wars. At the same time, we are also faced with urgent issues such as global environmental problems and energy and food issues that are essential for the sustainable development of human society. In such times, what is required of us as researchers is to strengthen and enhance our academic fields through academic exchange, to ease international tensions through human interaction, to strive to give back our achievements to society, and to guide division and conflict toward harmony. We aim to take a small step toward this grand goal by making this conference, APSORC25, a success.
To the participants from Japan, perhaps because our country has long been isolated, we tend to be “Galapagosized,” or closed off, as is often said about mobile phones. Let us share our latest research findings directly with the world.
To the participants from overseas, please share with us, Japanese researchers, and researchers from other countries, the latest knowledge and achievements from your countries and regions.
While each presentation may be small, let us compile them into a larger flow. We sincerely hope for the development of each one of your research efforts, as well as the further advancement and sustainability of radiochemistry and related study fields. We look forward to your participation.
See you in Matsue in September!!
