【ハイライト講演】神奈川県西部は本州弧と伊豆-小笠原弧の衝突帯に位置し,多くの活構造が存在する.夕日の滝断層は,この地域を規制する大きな(活)断層である平山断層の分岐断層と推定とされていたところであるが今回,断層露頭を発見し,断層岩の採取・分析を行った.結果,平山断層とは異なる特徴が見出され,異なる活動史が推定できそうである.このことは衝突帯の第四紀テクトニクスを理解するうえで重要である.(ハイライト講演とは...)
